ABOUT US

WELCOME TO

Oruma Malayali Community

Founded in 2017, the Oruma Malayali Community began with a heartfelt mission to unite ten families from Oran Park and the surrounding areas. From these modest beginnings, we have evolved into a vibrant and inclusive community, creating a warm and supportive environment that many now consider a second home. Our primary goal is to build a platform where we could celebrate our shared heritage while actively nurturing and preserving our rich cultural traditions. Over the years, we have remained devoted to upholding our unique cultural identity, fostering meaningful connections, and encouraging active involvement from all our members.
Our commitment extends well beyond hosting cultural events. We take immense pride in organizing colorful and inclusive celebrations such as Onam and Christmas, which bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds to enjoy shared experiences that transcend religious and cultural boundaries. Additionally, we actively participate in dance programs and other cultural events, showcasing and preserving our traditional art forms. It is deeply gratifying to see younger generations eagerly engage in these traditions, underscoring the success of our mission. Our partnership with Camden Council further enables us to participate in various community initiatives that promote unity and offer crucial support where needed. Through these ongoing efforts, we strive to enrich our cultural landscape, empower youth, and drive positive change, all while proudly operating as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being and cohesion of our community.
